Made in Berlin by BRAUN Lighting Solutions – simply better light.
The initial situation:
One of the hallmarks of Leipzig’s old town are the numerous so-called historic Schinkel lamps. Some of the luminaires that characterise the cityscape are mounted on wall brackets on building walls or installed on individual masts.
The customer’s wish:
The historic luminaires were to be preserved, the luminaire heads professionally restored and the technology modernised. One of the requirements here was the technical conversion to state-of-the-art, energy-efficient LED technology with gas lighting optics.
Our solution:
We are a renowned full-service provider in this specialised field: the approximately 360 lights were professionally dismantled and broken down into their individual components. Corroded, unsightly luminaire parts were then extensively refurbished and defective parts replaced. We carry out all manual work such as sandblasting, locksmith and painting work as well as the final assembly ourselves. This enabled our customer to benefit from immense cost and time savings. In the upper roof area, the old plastic covers were replaced with new translocated covers. Finally, each luminaire was also fitted with completely new safety glazing, which makes the luminaires appear as good as new again.
All 360 luminaires were fitted with energy-efficient His.lux LED-Modulen equipped with a gaslight look. At the customer’s request, an additional LED skylight was also installed in the roof area of the luminaires, which creates the appearance of reflective gas light. An integrated control unit enables a dimming function and night-time switch-off or reduction. The city centre now shines again in a warm white light, reminiscent of the old gas lighting.
With the decision in favour of our state-of-the-art His.lux LED-Module the city of Leipzig saves over 70% energy every year and makes a significant contribution to achieving the ambitious climate protection targets.
