Made in Berlin by BRAUN Lighting Solutions – simply better light.
The initial situation:
The Berlin State Opera is located directly on the street Unter den Linden in Berlin’s Mitte district. It is the oldest opera house in the capital and is famous for its outstanding operas and concerts. The eight historic lights along the archways have been neglected for a long time and now need to be restored in keeping with their listed status.
The customer’s wish:
The BRAUN company was commissioned to restore the wrought-iron Wandausleger The aim was to restore the building in a way that was gentle on the materials and preserved the existing structure and to create a warm light in keeping with the historic building using LED technology. This should be as glare-free as possible in order to provide guests, musicians and actors alike with pleasant lighting. The appearance and aesthetics should correspond to the high quality of the building.
Our solution:
The outdated layers of paint on the wall brackets were removed using a gentle blasting process and glass sand was selected as the abrasive material. After a high-quality rust protection was applied, the beautifully glossy black top coat could be applied. The conventional electrical installations were replaced by our His.lux LED-Module which shines glare-free and with high luminance in a pleasant warm white colour. The illuminance can be freely adjusted on each luminaire to ensure optimum adaptation to local conditions. All installed products were developed and produced in-house. The customer was highly satisfied with the excellent quality of the products used and the execution of the services. Once again, everything for this project was supplied and installed from a single source, which is always an advantage when handling such projects.
