The initial situation:
The metalworking specialist Arnold AG was commissioned to build an oversized gas lamp based on a design by the artist Olaf Nicolai for the forecourt of the “Upper West”, an imposing 119 metre high tower block in the middle of Berlin’s City West.

The customer’s wish:
The solution was a detailed, impressive special construction and a real eye-catcher at the same time. The result was a 16 metre high Berlin gas luminaire (model luminaire Alt-Berlin) with a bundle pillar mast (model Berlin) and a scale 4:1 larger than the standard height. The “Berliner Ensemble” shines in the City-West in highly polished stainless steel.

We designed, supplied and installed the complete control and condensing boiler technology for Arnold AG, as well as the special installation kits for gas lighting technology, including the associated CAD services.

Our solution:
The new luminaire on the Upper West is probably the largest gas light candelabra in the world. Once again, we were able to demonstrate our technical expertise and our high degree of flexibility with this task. This light installation, which can be seen from afar, is sure to impress many and often makes a good photo motif on many a smartphone.
