Made in Berlin by BRAUN Lighting Solutions – simply better light.
The initial situation:
Just four years after her coronation, the first Queen of Prussia, Sophie Charlotte of Hanover, died in 1705. King Frederick I had the Lietzenburg estate converted into a castle in honour of his late wife. Schloss Charlottenburg under whose name the largest Hohenzollern residence in the German capital Berlin is world-famous. The expansive palace forecourt is adorned with magnificent multi-armed candelabras carrying a total of 20 Berlin lanterns.
The customer’s wish:
The multi-armed magnificent candelabras were to be professionally refurbished and the existing lighting technology repaired
Our solution:
The lamp posts were cleaned with ice crystals to protect the material and repainted, the interior of the top-mounted lanterns was completely rebuilt with historic gas lamp optics and energy-efficient CDM lamps, new panes were fitted and the copper roofs, which had been affected by verdigris, were polished to a high shine. Every night, the lights and castle forecourt shine in the magical splendour of bygone times.
