Made in Berlin by BRAUN Lighting Solutions – simply better light.
The initial situation:
Nestled in the beautiful Schwerin lake district, Schwerin Castle resembles a true fairytale castle. Once the seat of the Dukes of Mecklenburg, it now houses the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament and the impressive castle museum. As part of extensive refurbishments in 2014/2015, the exterior lighting was also to be modernised and converted to LED lighting.
The customer’s wish:
An LED installation kit that does not dazzle despite its high brightness should be integrated into certain luminaires. The solution should also be dimmable and sustainable. It was also important to the planning office that modern LED technology was used that would blend in harmoniously with the historic luminaires. In order to maintain the overall look and feel of the luminaires, no modern lighting elements should be visible.
Our solution:
The technical conversion was also carried out again with our energy-efficient His.lux LED-Modulen, in the unique LED GasLight version. With a light colour of 2,700 K, it creates the visual impression of original historical gas lighting. The visual appearance of the lights therefore corresponds exactly to the gas-powered originals.
With this lighting solution, we offer state-of-the-art LED technology in a historical guise. After completing the retrofit, however, the planners realised that the desired dimming capability was not available. The cause was the large distance between the switch cabinet and the lights. Specific expertise in electrical engineering was required here. We also proved to be a reliable solution provider for the problem. A special digital-to-analogue converter was produced for the dimming capability. By converting the analogue signal to a digital signal upstream of the line, dimming signals were digitised using a specially manufactured device. The digitised dimming values were converted into a 1-10 V analogue signal in the luminaire, enabling reliable dimming. With our in-depth knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, we were also able to implement a suitable solution to the delight of everyone involved.
