Made in Berlin by BRAUN Lighting Solutions – simply better light.
The initial situation:
With its remarkable history, size, architecture and city centre location, the former Tempelhof Airport is one of Berlin’s most important attractions. More than 100 tenants from a wide range of sectors, from police chiefs to dance schools, are based in the old airport building. Since the beginning of 2015, the site has been developed into a new urban quarter for culture and the creative industries.
We were to convert the outdated, listed box lights on an access road to the site to state-of-the-art, energy-efficient LED technology and restore the masts to their original condition.
The customer’s wish:
Our client, Tempelhof Projekt GmbH, wanted a complete service: dismantling, restoration and installation, including the commissioning of the listed existing luminaires in accordance with the specifications of the heritage authority.
Our solution:
After dismantling the existing luminaires, the listed box luminaires and a two-armed mast were extensively restored. All work on the luminaires and the mast combination was carried out with the necessary care and in accordance with the specifications of the monument authority. The case lights were equipped with our energy-efficient cityLED-Modulen and now illuminate the logistics access road to the former Tempelhof Airport with state-of-the-art lighting technology from us.
Both Tempelhof Projekt GmbH and the responsible monument protection authority are delighted with the result and expressed their sincere thanks with a
